Gordon Ramsay’s Father In-Law Jailed For 6 Months For Hacking Chef’s Computer

The 69-year-old was jailed at the Old Bailey for conspiring with his two sons to hack the computer system of the Gordon Ramasy’s company to steal information. Hutcheson, the father of Ramsay’s wife, Tana, plotted with his sons Adam Hutcheson, 47, and Chris Hutcheson Junior, 37, to break into the Ramsays’s emails and find financial details and other information, some of which ended up in the now defunct News of the World.

The two younger men were both given four month jail terms, suspended for two years. Jailing Hutcheson Senior at the Old Bailey, Judge John Bevan QC said: “The whole episode of five months amounts to an unattractive and unedifying example of dirty linen being washed in public.”

Hutcheson Senior, who is now estranged from the foul-mouthed TV favourite, and his son and daughter, ran Ramsay’s business empire for 12 years alongside the firebrand chef as a “committee of two” until October 2010. A legal settlement two years later cost Ramsay £2million to cut all professional ties with his father-in-law.

Hutcheson Senior was charged under Operation Tuletta with conspiring to cause a computer to access programs and data without authority. It is thought Tana Ramsay, married to the chef for 21 years, has not spoken to her family since.

Having been sacked from his role as chief executive of Gordon Ramsay Holdings Ltd, he conspired with his sons, who both had IT roles in the business, to access company systems almost 2,000 times between October 23 2010 and March 31 2011. This included accessing information regarding Ramsay’s intellectual property rights and other material which might give them the upper hand in their legal spat.

Hutcheson Senior kissed his sons as he was taken away to begin his sentence. The judge said that despite the seven-figure impact of the civil legal battle between the older man and his famous in-law only immediate imprisonment was appropriate given the seriousness of his crime.

Hutcheson Senior, of Earlsfield, Hutcheson Junior, from Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, and Adam Hutcheson, from Sevenoaks, in Kent, admitted conspiring to cause a computer to access programmes and data without authority at a hearing in April.

Popsicles Made From 100 Different Polluted Water Sources

These popsicles may look like the something you’d expect to find being served from an organic artisanal food truck, but one bite could leave you very ill indeed, because they’re actually made from sewage found in the polluted waters of Taiwan.

They were made by three design students for the Polluted Water Popsicles project, which aims to raise awareness about rising water pollution due to rapid economic growth and urbanization. Water was taken from 100 different water sources in Taiwan and turned into frozen toxic popsicles before Hung I-chen, Guo Yi-hui, and Cheng Yu-ti from the National Taiwan University of Arts recreated them using transparent polyester resin.

They even made wrappers for them that represented the different regions from which the polluted water samples were taken. While the trash in the water was varied, about 90 percent of it was plastic, and the popsicles contain everything from bottle caps and plastic bags to bottles and chopstick wrappers. It’s a simple yet effective way of getting us to think about water pollution from a totally different perspective.
